Woman dies, man is injured in separate vehicular accidents

Two unrelated vehicular accidents near U.S. Route 380 in Denton, TX, resulted in one fatality and one injury on Thursday, September 15th.

Denton Police Department responded to the scene of the accident around 7:35 a.m. to attend to an unconscious man that was lying on the ground, and who appeared to have sustained a head injury. He was airlifted via CareFlite to an area hospital.

According to preliminary investigations, the injured man had been driving a pickup truck south on Egan Road and tried to cross U.S. Route 380 when the vehicle was hit by a semi-tractor trailer.

Shortly after, police responded to the scene of the accident at U.S. Route 380 and Marshall Road at around 7:50 a.m. where an 18-wheeler collided with the driver’s side of a car driven by a woman that was later identified as 75-year-old Beverly Chambers by the Tarrant County medical examiner. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
