Jefferson County, TX – Multi-Vehicle Crash On Interstate 10 Results In Injuries

Jefferson County, TX (March 18, 2019)- The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle car accident on Interstate 10 around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The accident occurred near mile marker 841. According to the Department of Public Safety, a BMW was traveling eastbound along I-10 when the driver suffered a medical emergency. As a result, the driver lost control of their vehicle and veered into the cable barrier. This caused a cable wire to snap and hit a pickup truck that was also heading eastbound along I-10. The impact caused a tire on the truck to dislodge, which rolled into the westbound lane of the interstate and struck a commercial vehicle.

The incident caused major delays on both the east and westbound sides of I-10. The accident remains under investigation. As a result of this incident, a man from Vidor, whose name has not been released, sustained injuries in the crash. At this time, his condition is unknown.

Our thoughts are with everyone who was injured in this terrible accident and their families as they work to recover from their injuries.  We hope that everyone will be able to make a full recovery.
