Victoria County, TX – Rene Villarreal Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash On US-87

Victoria County, TX (March 21, 2019) – On March 20, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident on US-87.

The accident occurred near the FM 1090 around 7:50 p.m. when a 2003 Chevrolet driven by William Alexander Orsbon, 19, of Inez, failed to yield to the right-of-way. As a result, a 2018 Kia Rio driven by 45-year-old Rene Israel Villarreal, struck the side of the vehicle.

Villarreal was rushed to Citizens Medical Center immediately following the incident but later died as the result of his injuries. The driver in the Chevrolet sustained minimal injuries.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Villarreal family as they deal with this tragic loss.

Fatal Collisions in Texas

During 2017, over 3,700 people lost their lives as a result of an automobile accident.  It is extremely unfortunate when victims are killed by drunk drivers in Texas. In some cases, these accidents are preventable, which makes it even more difficult to deal with such a tragic loss.

Although no amount of compensation can ever replace the lives lost in a fatal car accident, surviving family members can file wrongful death lawsuits with a Texas wrongful death attorney to obtain remuneration to help with medical and funeral expenses and various other damages resulting from the incident.

The skilled Texas wrongful death lawyers at the Benton Law Firm work diligently to help those injured, and surviving family members, recover compensation and justice for accidents from wrongdoers.
