Houston, TX – Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 249

Houston, TX (March 23, 2019) On the early morning of March 23rd, a fatal pedestrian accident happened at the 14300 block of State Highway 249 at around 2:00 a.m. According to the reports, a pedestrian was trying to cross the highway but failed to yield for an oncoming sedan. Unfortunately, the driver claims they were unable to prevent the crash from happening once they saw the pedestrian in front of them.

When the paramedics arrived to help, they found the pedestrian dead at the scene. Fortunately, the driver responsible remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities until they finished clearing up the accident.

As of now, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crime Division is currently investigating the accident.

Our condolences are with the deceased pedestrian’s family as they grieve over the loss of their loved one.

Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

Houston, TX – Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 249In 2017, statistics show that about 567 pedestrians were killed on Texas highways, and the year prior to that about 676 were killed. Unfortunately, the leading cause of most pedestrian accidents is drivers not paying attention to their surroundings. Most times drivers are either on their cell phones or under the influence. For those who have loved ones that were injured or killed in pedestrian accidents, it’s important to seek out a Texas wrongful death attorney to help file a wrongful death lawsuit.
