Abilene, TX – Officer Tara Havner and Two Kids Injured In Crash At 6700 West Highway 80 and South 1st Street

Abilene, TX (March 25, 2019) – Just after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, Officer Tara Havner responded to a reported stabbing in the 1400 Block of Sunset Street.

After investigating the stabbing, Havner took the two small children to the Abilene/Taylor County Child Advocacy Center to be interviewed. Officer Havner left the Advocacy Center and was traveling near 6700 West Highway 80 and South 1st Street when her vehicle was struck by a Ford Edge around 4:30 a.m.

The driver of the edge, Havner, and the two children were all transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. According to police, the driver of the Ford Edge ran a stop sign and collided with the police car.
