San Antonio, TX – Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on West Cypress Street

San Antonio, TX (March 24, 2019) On the night of March 23rd, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened in the 500 block of West Cypress Street and San Pedro Avenue at around 10:00 p.m. According to the reports, a 24-year-old woman was crossing the street when an old red pickup truck struck her and proceeded to drive off without stopping.

When the paramedics arrived, they found the woman suffering from critical injuries and transported her to University Hospital to be treated for fractures to her right femur and internal injuries.

Fortunately, a witness followed the pickup truck and called the authorities once the driver pulled over in a Whataburger parking lot. The driver was arrested and is expected to be charged with failure to stop and render aid.

We wish the injured woman a full recovery as she begins the treatment process.  Our thoughts are with her and her family.

Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents

San Antonio, TX – Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on West Cypress StreetUnfortunately, thousands of pedestrians are struck in Texas every year. Most of the time the cause is negligent driving, which is why some drivers choose to flee the scene instead of help injured victims get the proper assistance for their injuries. Whenever drivers decide to leave the scene, its usually because they are already criminals, or lack the proper auto credentials, making them fear the consequences of their actions. It’s never acceptable for drivers to leave the scene after striking a pedestrian, no matter who was at fault for the accident.

At Benton Law Group, we have helped countless pedestrians win their personal injury lawsuits after successfully pursuing all potentially negligent parties. If you or someone you know was harmed in a pedestrian accident, contact one of our personal injury attorneys today at 214-219-4878.
