Houston, Texas (March 24, 2019) On the morning of March 23rd, a fatal car accident happened in the 5000 block of Gulf Freeway, also known as Interstate 45, near the Tanger Outlets. According to the reports, a Cadillac was stopped in the middle lane of the highway due to mechanical issues when a pickup truck struck it at 4:30 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived to help, they found the 25-year-old driver, Juan Antonio Vasquez, dead at the scene. Crews shut down a part of the Gulf Freeway from Holland Road to FM 1764 as they worked to investigate and clear the crash.

The pickup driver states to have not seen the Cadillac before striking it. The police are working to discover if negligence played a role in this collision. So far, they don’t believe alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
