Whitewright, TX – Motorcycle Accident On FM 697 Leaves One Injured
Whitewright, TX (March 25, 2019) – On Monday afternoon, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a motorcycle accident in Whitewright.
The accident occurred just before 2 p.m. when a westbound Jeep stopped at a mailbox located along FM 697. After checking the mail, the jeep began to turn left into a private driveway. At the same time, a motorcyclist, who was traveling westbound, attempted to pass the SUV in a no-passing zone and struck the left rear panel of the SUV.
The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation; however, it is believed that the motorcyclist may be charged with failure to control speed and passing in a prohibited zone.
