Corpus Christi, TX – Guillermo Serna Dies From Injuries Sustained In Wrong-Way Crash On State Highway 358

Corpus Christi, TX (March 26, 2019) – On January 1, a crash occurred around 5:00 a.m. on State Highway 358, near Airline Road. Investigations of the accident showed the driver of a gray SUV, driven by 28-year-old Richard Lopez, was traveling the wrong way down the highway when it struck a vehicle head-on.

The vehicle struck by Lopez was occupied by 71-year-old Guillermo Serna, his wife, his son, and another family member. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Serna and three others were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety announced that, on March 24, Serna succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash. Our deepest condolences go out to the Serna family as they deal with this tragic loss.
