El Paso, TX (March 26, 2019) – On March 26, Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash near the intersection of Doniphan Drive and State Highway 16 Spur.

According to DPS, a pedestrian was attempting to cross the tracks near the intersection when they were struck by a train. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment to injuries but later died due to the severity of injuries sustained.

An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
