Garland, TX – Three Children Seriously Injured In Car Fire In The 2900 Block Of South First Street

Garland, TX (April 1, 2019) – Just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, Garland Police, Fire, and Emergency crews responded to the scene of a car fire in the 2900 block of South First Street.

The incident took place in a shopping center parking lot. For unknown reasons, a car caught on fire with three children inside. 4-year-old Jackson, 3-year-old Josiyah, and 1-year-old Jayceon were all transported to an area hospital in critical condition. One child was transported in CareFlite for treatment.

The children’s father, Niekieya Mcgill, was inside a store briefly when the fire occurred, but rushed out immediately to remove the children with the help of a good Samaritan. The children remain in critical condition.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jackson, Josiyah, and Jayceon. We hope these children are able to get the medical attention necessary to lessen their pain and help them make a full and fast recovery.
