Austin, TX – Carlos Cardenas Jr Identified as Pedestrian Killed On S. Congress

Austin, TX (April 2, 2019) – On Friday, March 29, ATCEMS and the Austin Fire Department reported to the scene of a pedestrian accident on South Congress Avenue.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. According to police, 45-year-old Carlos Cardenas Jr. was trying to cross an unlit portion of South Congress Avenue, near the 7300 block, with another person when he was struck by a 2001 white Chrysler Sebring.

Cardenas Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Our sincerest condolences go out to the Cardenas family as they deal with this very tragic loss.
