Axtell, TX – Shelby Lee Schroeder Arrested For Fatal FM 2311 Crash

Axtell, TX (April 2, 2019) – The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a crash early Saturday at Farm-to-Market Road 2311 and State Highway 31.

The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. when 23-year-old Shelby Lee Schroeder ran a stop sign in his GMC SUV and struck a Hyundai sedan. The two occupants of the sedan, 55-year-old Belinda Sanabria and 50-year-old Matias Sanabria Mendoza were both killed instantly.

Schroeder sustained an incapacitating injury in the crash and was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center. Schroeder was later arrested for his involvement in the incident.
