Houston, TX – Driver Killed in Fatal Vehicle Accident on Katy Freeway

Houston, TX (April 6, 2019) On the 6th of April, a fatal vehicle accident happened on Katy Freeway at about 3:00 a.m. According to the reports, an initial minor accident happened that crews were working to clear up. They shut the freeway down for a few minutes, which required all vehicles to come to a stop.

Unfortunately, a woman driving a red Toyota did not realize traffic was stopped and rear-ended a blue vehicle, which caused it to crash into a white pickup truck, and then the wall. The red vehicle continued on to crash into an 18-wheeler.

Emergency crews immediately responded to the crash, but unfortunately, the driver of the blue car had died at the scene. The drivers of the pickup truck and the 18-wheeler truck did not sustain any injuries. The woman responsible for causing the accident was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police are currently investigating this accident to determine whether or not drugs and/or alcohol was a contributing factor.

We send our condolences to the deceased driver’s family as they grieve over the loss of their loved one. We also wish the injured woman a fast recovery.
