UPDATE: Houston, TX – Luis Torres Killed in Fatal DUI Accident on Katy Freeway

Houston, TX (April 7, 2019) On the 6th of April, a fatal DUI accident happened on Katy Freeway at about 3:00 a.m. According to the reports, an initial minor accident happened that crews were working to clear up. They shut the freeway down for a few minutes, which required all vehicles to come to a stop.

Unfortunately, a woman named Sheila Brown, who was driving a red Toyota, failed to realize traffic was stopped and rear-ended a blue vehicle, which caused the vehicle to crash into a white pickup truck, and then into the wall. Brown’s vehicle continued on to crash into an 18-wheeler truck.

When the paramedics arrived, they found the driver of the blue vehicle, Luis Torres, dead at the scene. The drivers of the pickup truck and the 18-wheeler truck did not sustain any injuries. Brown was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and eventually arrested for intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.

We send our condolences to Luis Torres’ family right now.  They are in our thoughts at this time.
