UPDATE: Lubbock, TX – Brenda Castorena Killed and 2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 4th Street

Lubbock, TX (April 8, 2019) On the afternoon of April 6th, a two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of 4th Street and Toledo Avenue at around 3:40 p.m. According to the reports, a 71-year-old man driving a pickup truck with a trailer connected to it collided with a passenger vehicle for unspecified reasons.

When the paramedics arrived, they found 18-year-old Brenda Castorena suffering from life-threatening injuries and transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries and passed away at the hospital despite life-saving measures. The 71-year-old pickup driver and his 22-year-old passenger also suffered from injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Emergency crews had to shut down some of the lanes in the 4600 block of 4th Street. The crash is currently under investigation to determine what led up to the incident.

We send our condolences to Brenda Castorena’s family at this time. We also hope the other two injured victims are able to recover from all injuries.
