Lufkin, TX – Several Hospitalized After Crash At US-69 S & Carrell Rd
Lufkin, TX (April 10, 2019) – Around noon, on April 10th, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a multi-vehicle collision on US-69 South near Carrell Road.
According to reports, 37-year-old Angela Bounds was stopped in a 2011 Kia car facing south on US-69. A 2012 Toyota SUV, which was driven by 59-year-old Robin Galloway, was stopped behind the Kia at the intersection. A 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 79-year-old Clarence Rhoden, was traveling behind the Toyota but failed to notice the vehicles stopped. As a result, the Chevrolet struck the rear end of the Toyota SUV, which forced it to strike the Kia.
Angela Bounds was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital following the incident. Robin Galloway was transported to Woodland Heights Hospital and then to Hermann Hospital in Houston following the collision. The driver of the Chevrolet, Clarence Rhoden, was transported to Woodland Heights Hospital then transferred to a Tyler Hospital.
