Austin, TX – Wing Cheung Chou Died In Crash With Firetruck On SH 45

Austin, TX (April 11, 2019) – On April 6, around 3:30 p.m., Austin Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle incident in the 14000 block of North SH 45.

According to police, 69-year-old Wing Cheung Chou was traveling eastbound on SH 45 in a blue Honda when he lost control of his vehicle. The car slid into a concrete barrier and then rear-ended an Austin Fire Department truck, which was parked along the roadway.

Both Mr. Chou and a passenger in the vehicle were transported to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center for treatment. Chou later succumbed to his injuries while his passenger remained in the hospital.
