Edinburg, TX – Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Wreck on FM 1925
Edinburg, TX (April 13, 2019) On the morning of April 13th, a fatal pedestrian wreck happened on FM 1925/Monte Cristo Road in between Doolittle Road and Cesar Chavez Road. The reports indicate that a Dodge Ram struck a pedestrian, but it’s unclear if the pedestrian was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk or not.
By the time the paramedics reached the crash site, the pedestrian had already suffered fatal injuries. Fortunately, the driver stayed at the scene and answered the authorities’ questions as they worked to figure out what happened.
We know how hard it is to lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, which is why our thoughts are with the deceased pedestrian’s family.
Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Sadly, Texas is the 13th state with the highest number of pedestrian fatalities. There are a number of reasons why pedestrians lose their lives on Texas roads, one of which is drivers not seeing them within enough time to slow down or stop. The reason why drivers fail to see pedestrians is because of distractions, such as cell phones, passengers, food, alcohol, fatigue, and more.
At Benton Law Firm, we have successfully retrieved compensation from irresponsible parties, which has helped grieving families pay for funerals, hospital bills, loss of wages, loss of spousal support, and more. It’s very important for families to seek help immediately while the case is still fresh, otherwise they may forget details or miss the deadline to file a wrongful death lawsuit.
