Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

El Paso, TX – Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash on I-10 Recent studies show that 298 pedestrians were killed in Texas during the first six months of 2018. Studies also indicate that the leading cause of most of these accidents was driver’s being distracted by their cell phones. When drivers respond to text messages, scroll through social media, watch videos, video chat, check emails, and more, they split their attention, making them more prone to accidentally striking a pedestrian.

Government laws require drivers to pay attention to their surroundings for their own safety as well as the safety all pedestrians. When drivers fail to abide by this law due to cell phone usage, they’re committing an act of negligence.
