Wood Cnty, TX – Steven Almanza Dead & 2 Injured In FM 14 Crash
Wood County, TX (April 15, 2019) – Around 10:42 am on Saturday, April 13, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a collision on FM 14.
The incident occurred just two miles outside of Hawkins. According to reports, 17-year-old Emily Catherine Moore was traveling south on FM 14 when her vehicle hydroplaned and crossed into the northbound lanes where it struck a 2005 Toyota Highlander, driven by 28-year-old Steven Joseph Almanza, head-on.
Both Almanza and his passenger, 31-year-old Jenny Paine, were transported to a Tyler hospital with serious injuries. Moore was transported to an area hospital and released.
DPS confirmed that Almanza succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.
