Cypress-Fairbanks, TX – FireFighter Hurt In Fire On Golden Grain Drive

Cypress-Fairbanks, TX (April 16, 2019) – On April 16, around 1:20 a.m., Cy-Fair Fire Department responded to the scene of a house fire on Golden Grain Drive.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy flames in the shed, which were spreading to a covered porch area. The family who lived in the home was able to get out safely and remove all of their dogs. Unfortunately, one dog ran back into the home. Crews worked to get the dogs out safely, but one firefighter was injured when the owner of the home backed their vehicle over the firefighter’s foot.

The firefighter was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. No one else was injured in the incident, but, unfortunately, the dog that re-entered the home died.

We hope the firefighter who was injured is able to make a fast and full recovery.
