West Tawakoni, TX – 1 Killed & 2 Injured In Crash on State Highway 276

West Tawakoni, TX (April 17, 2019) – Around 8:15 p.m. on April 16, Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a three-vehicle collision in the southern end of Hunt County.

The incident occurred on State Highway 276, roughly 1-mile east of West Tawakoni. According to reports, a Silverado pickup truck was traveling west along State Highway 276 while a Ford pickup truck was traveling in the opposite direction along the highway, followed by another Ford F-150, which was towing a trailer.

For unknown reasons, the Chevy Silverado crossed over the center lines and struck the first Ford pickup truck head-on. The impact of the collision caused the Ford to spin and crash into the second Ford pickup truck.

The driver of the first Ford pickup truck, who was identified as 82-year-old Meredith K. Epperson, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. The driver and passenger in the second Ford pickup truck were both transported to Hunt Regional Medical Center.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Epperson family as they deal with the loss of their loved one.

We hope the two individuals injured in this collision make a fast and full recovery.
