Austin, TX – One Man Killed In Crash On US 290 Near FM 1826

Austin, TX (April 18, 2019) – Just before 7 a.m., April 18, Austin Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on US 290.

The incident occurred along US 290 near FM 1826. According to police, a driver in an SUV made a left-hand turn across multiple lanes in a “right turn only” area. In doing so, the SUV pulled out in front of a silver car. The driver of the silver car swerved, but both vehicles ultimately collided in the middle lane of the road.

The force of the impact caused the silver car to fly into an eastbound truck.

The male driver of the car, who was in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The driver of the truck was injured and transported to an area hospital.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of the man who lost his life in this tragic incident.

Our thoughts are with everyone who was affected by this accident.  Our thoughts are with them all.
