Sherman, TX – Benjamin Ordaz Arrested For Death of Two In US 82 Crash

Sherman, TX (April 18, 2019) – On April 2, the Sherman Police Department reported to the scene of a collision on US 82 near FM 1417.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. According to reports, 19-year-old Benjamin Ordaz was traveling down the interstate when he struck the rear end of a Kia Sportage. The driver of the Kia, 68-year-old Richard Surface, passed away April 6th from injuries sustained in the collision. The passenger in the Kia, 71-year-old Jane Surface, succumbed to her injuries April 4.

On April 17, Sherman Police Department announced that Ordaz was being charged for his involvement in this horrific incident.
