New Braunfels, TX – William Alston Died At First Baptist Church While Working

New Braunfels, TX (April 19, 2019) – On April 18, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a workplace incident at the First Baptist Church in the 700 block of Cross Street.

According to authorities, 53-year-old William Robert Alston was hired as a contractor to clean the windows of the church. Alston was using a long pole at the time, which came in contact with nearby power lines just before 6:45 a.m.

The contact between the pole and the power lines sent an electric shock down the pole to Alston. Alston was transported to Christus Santa Rosa, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
