Lubbock, TX – Pedro Martinez Jr Killed In Crash At Avenue Q & 50th St

Lubbock, TX (April 22, 2019) – On Friday afternoon, April 19, Lubbock Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on Avenue Q and 50th Street.

The incident occurred when a car traveling in the 5200 south block of Avenue Q Drive crossed the southbound lanes. The car struck an SUV, which was stopped at the entrance of the United Supermarket parking lot on Avenue Q.

61-year-old Pedro Martinez Jr. was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 64-year-old driver of the SUV and the 32-year-old driver of the car were both transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

Police later confirmed that Martinez succumbed to his injuries while in the hospital.
