Axtell, TX – 5 Injured in Two-Car Crash on U.S. Highway 84

Axtell, TX (April 27, 2019) On the night of April 26th, a two-car crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and FM 939. A Mitsubishi SUV was traveling southbound on FM 939 when it drove through a red light and was struck by a Chevrolet that was heading eastbound. The major collision happened at around 7:50 p.m.

When the paramedics arrived at the intersection, they found a total of five people suffering from injuries. Two of the injured victims were a 7-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, both of whom were occupants of the Mitsubishi. They were both taken to hospitals in Waco and Temple for treatment of critical injuries. The driver of the Mitsubishi and two people inside of the Chevrolet were also injured and taken to hospitals for treatment.

Authorities are investigating to determine why the driver of the Mitsubishi ran the red light.

We hope all five injured victims successfully recover from their injuries.  Our thoughts are with them at this time.
