Kaufman County, TX – 1 Killed in Fatal Car Collision on State Highway 34
Kaufman County, TX (April 27, 2019) On the morning of April 27th, a fatal car collision happened on State Highway 34 and Private Road 3780. A grey Ford was turning from Private Road onto State Highway when a cement truck tried to avoid hitting the Ford by switching into the northbound lane. In doing so, the cement truck crashed head-on with a Ford Flex. The impact of the crash resulted in the cement truck overturning and hitting another vehicle.
When emergency crews got to the accident site, they found the driver of the Ford Flex dead. At this time, it’s unclear whether any other drivers or passengers were hurt in this collision.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating this crash to figure out who was at fault.
We send our condolences to the deceased driver’s family during this painful time.
Head-On Accidents in Texas
Statistics show that the worst kind of car crash to be involved in is a head-on crash. These crashes are the most dangerous since the collision’s impact is twice as forceful than any other accident. When two vehicles collide head-on at 50 miles per hour, the damages are as if they collided at 100 miles per hour, making it more likely for those involved to suffer fatal injuries.
