Hutchinson County, TX – Steven Williams Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on SH 136
Hutchinson County, TX (April 28, 2019) On the afternoon of April 28th, a fatal motorcycle wreck occurred on SH 136, less than two miles west of Borger.
A 20-year-old woman named Jacie Huneycutt was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic when she looked down to check her phone as a motorcyclist lost control of his 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist was in the middle of switching lanes when he lost control and fell onto the highway.
Sadly, Huneycutt did not look up from her phone in time before running him over. The impact of the crash caused Huneycutt’s vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a group of trees. The fatal accident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m.
When the paramedics arrived, they found the motorcyclist dead on the roadway. He has been identified as 65-year-old Steven Williams. It’s unclear at this time whether Huneycutt sustained any injuries.
We send our genuine condolences to Steven Williams’ family during this sad time.
Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
In 2016, approximately 463 motorcyclists lost their lives on Texas roads. Motorcyclists usually suffer fatalities after critical head injuries due to colliding with other vehicles. Other common injuries include spinal cord injuries, limb injuries, and internal injuries. Because motorcycles are smaller and not as stable than passenger vehicles, it’s easier for motorcyclists to be harmed than it is for occupants in enclosed vehicles. Therefore, it’s very important for injured victims or families of deceased victims to seek help from a Texas personal injury or wrongful death lawyer.
