Jefferson County, TX – Two Injured in Highway 73 Crash Identified

Jefferson County, TX (April 29, 2019) – On Saturday, April 27, emergency crews responded to the scene of a collision along highway 73.

The incident took place around 8:15 p.m. According to DPS officers, an SUV was traveling west along the interstate, followed by a Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger, which was traveling at an unsafe rate of speed, rear-ended the Honda SUV. The impact of the collision caused the SUV to go off the roadway, struck a fence, and roll several times before coming to a stop.

The two occupants of the Dodge Charger, 36-year-old Ashley Rochelle and her 5-year-old child, were both transported to Southeast Texas Medical Center for treatment to injuries sustained in the collision. The occupants of the SUV, 64-year-old Sandra Harlan and her husband Robert Harland were both flown by helicopter to St. Elizabeth with serious injuries.
