Polk County, TX – Five Students Injured In Bus Crash On US 59

Polk County, TX (April 29, 2019) – On April 29, around 7 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 59.

According to police, 52-year-old Yong-Kwan Kim was traveling along the highway in a semi-truck behind a school bus from Corrigan-Camden ISD. The school bus applied their brakes to prepare for stopping, but the semi-truck driver failed to realize the brake lights on the bus. As a result, the semi-truck rear-ended the school bus.

Five students on the bus sustained injuries in the collision. The semi-truck driver was uninjured.
