Bowie County, TX – Domingo Fernando Simon Killed In Crash On US-59

Bowie County, TX (May 2, 2019) – Just after 5 p.m. on May 1st, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a collision on US-59.

The incident occurred just six miles south of Texarkana. According to police, 20-year-old Domingo Fernando Simon was stopped facing east at the intersection of US-59 at the Sulpher River boat ramp. Simon pulled out, failing to yield the right of way to a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

As a result, the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Silverado was transported to an area hospital for treatment. A passenger in Simon’s vehicle was seriously injured and sent to a Shreveport hospital. Simon was transported to a Texarkana hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
