Smith County, TX – Victims Of Toll 49 Crash Identified

Smith County, TX (May 9, 2019) – On May 8, Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Toll 49.

According to reports, just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, two vehicles collided on the road just four miles southwest of Lindale. A preliminary investigation of the incident determined that 62-year-old Barbara Beagle was traveling along the roadway when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a van, driven by 41-year-old Kendrick Hartsfield, head-on.

The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to catch on fire.

Both Beagle and Kendrick, as well as 34-year-old Kei Lei Harding, who was a passenger in Beagle’s vehicle, were all pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this accident.  Our thoughts are with them at this time.
