Arlington, TX – Arlington PD Officer Struck By Car On N Collins St

Arlington, TX (May 13, 2019) – On May 13, Arlington Police Department and emergency crews responded to the scene of a bicycle accident in the 800 block of North Collins Street involving one of their own.

According to police, around 12:45 a.m., an Arlington Police Bicycle Officer was traveling down Collins street on a marked and distinguishable bicycle with lights on it. The officer, who was traveling with another officer, was attempting to cross Collins Street in the westbound direction, near Rogers Street, when he was struck by a black SUV.

The driver of the SUV fled from the scene of the incident. The impact of the collision caused the officer to be ejected from his bicycle. The officer was injured in the incident and transported to Medical City of Arlington Hospital for treatment.

At this time, police are working to locate the driver of the SUV responsible for this incident.
