Licking, TX (May 13, 2019) – On May 13, around 3:35 p.m., Licking Police Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor on US 63.

The incident occurred at the intersection of US 63 and Shafer Road. According to reports, 78-year-old Donald Stephens was attempting to cross US 63 on a John Deere tractor when his vehicle was struck by a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by 50-year-old Lauran Gant.

Stephens was ejected from his tractor, causing serious injuries. Stephens was transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. Gant and a passenger in her vehicle self-transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
