San Antonio, TX – 2nd Worker Dies After Alamo Junction Rail Park Explosion
San Antonio, TX (May 14, 2019) – On May 10, Bexar County Emergency crews responded to the Alamo Junction Rail Park for an explosion.
The explosion occurred at the location in the 12500 block of Old Corpus Christi Road. According to reports, a team of workers were cleaning a rail tanker when it exploded. One worker was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. Five injured workers were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
On Monday, May 13, authorities confirm that a second worker, who was identified as 42-year-old Roger Noriega, passed away at Brooke Army Medical Center from his injuries. The four other workers injured have since been released from the hospital.
