Upton County, TX – Christopher Castro Killed In Crash On SH 349

Upton County, TX (May 14, 2019) – On May 13, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a motor vehicle accident on SH 349 just 15-miles north of Rankin.

According to reports, 47-year-old Christopher Castro was traveling north on SH 349 in a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. Castro’s vehicle jackknifed and entered into the southbound lanes where it struck a Peterbilt truck.

Castro was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers.

The two occupants of the Peterbilt truck were injured and transported to Rankin County Hospital for treatment.
