Polk County, TX – Steven West Injured In Crash On US-59 South of Livingston

Polk County, TX (May 15, 2019) – On May 13, Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision around 2:30 p.m. on US Highway 59 just south of Livingston.

According to DPS, 49-year-old Tom Moravee was traveling north along the inside lanes of Highway 59 in a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor-semi-trailer rig when the collision occurred. Investigations show that the left front tire of the truck blew out, causing the truck to cross the center median and strike a 2019 Volkswagen passenger vehicle driven by 67-year-old Steven West.

West was seriously injured in the collision and transported to a Houston Hospital by helicopter for immediate medical treatment.

Our thoughts are with Steven West and his family at this time.
