South Austin, TX – Patrick Leonard Ervin Killed In I-35 Crash

South Austin, TX (May 15, 2019) – On May 12, around 11:35 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 12100 block of North Interstate 35 northbound service road.

According to police, a tan Hyundai Elantra and a white Toyota Camry were both traveling north along the highway when the driver of the Camry tried to overtake the lane of the Elantra. As a result, the driver of the Camry lost control of his vehicle, sending both cars off the roadway where the Elantra came to rest by striking a tree.

The driver of the Elantra, 52-year-old Patrick Leonard Ervin, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. The driver of the Camry was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
