Amarillo, TX – 4 Dead and 1 Injured in Fatal Head-On Collision on U.S. 87

Amarillo, TX (May 19, 2019) On the evening of May 18th, a fatal vehicle collision happened on U.S. 87. A man named Mario Alberto was traveling on the highway in a Chevrolet Avalanche when he collided head-on with a Chevrolet Camaro that was operated by Trey Tipton.

When the ambulance arrived to assist everyone in the two vehicles, they discovered Mario Alberto, Trey Tipton, a 9-year-old, and a 5-year-old had passed away at the scene. A 13-year-old girl survived the crash but was suffering from life-threatening injuries. They immediately took her to a hospital in Amarillo for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the fatal crash, but it appears as though Alberto was driving south in the northbound lanes of the highway.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to all of the families who were affected by this tragic accident.  Our thoughts are with the families of Mario Alberto, Trey Tipton and the two children who passed away in this accident.  We pray that the thirteen-year-old will be able to make a full recovery.
