Lampasas, TX – Douglas Wheeler Killed In Bicycle Crash On FM 2527

Lampasas, TX (May 20, 2019) – On Sunday, May 19, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Farm-to-Market Road 2527.

According to reports, 56-year-old Douglas Wheeler was traveling south along Farm-to-Marker 2527 on a bicycle when he was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 68-year-old Curtis Windham, around 12:15 p.m.

Wheeler sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers. No one inside the truck was injured in the collision.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
