Grand Prairie, TX – Angel Ceballos Killed in Motorcycle Accident on N Belt Line Rd
Grand Prairie, TX (May 26, 2019) On the evening of May 25th, a fatal motorcycle collision happened in the 700 block of North Belt Line Road.
A 20-year-old man named Angel Ceballos was riding his motorcycle when a pickup truck driver, 30-year-old Jesse Merchant, cut him off by turning left into a gas station. Because Merchant failed to yield the right-of-way, the two vehicles collided.
When the paramedics arrived, they found Ceballos lying in the roadway critically injured and immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital for treatment. When Ceballos arrived at the hospital, he had already succumbed to his injuries.
The police arrested Merchant and charged him with manslaughter.
We would like to offer our condolences to the family of Angel Ceballos at this time.
Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
Turning left in front of an oncoming motorcycle is one of the most common causes of motorcycle accidents in Texas. When drivers fail to yield the right of way, it’s because they’re either distracted or in a rush to their destination and believe they can turn quickly enough to avoid an accident. Unfortunately, this method of driving often results in serious injuries that lead to fatalities.
