Smith County, TX – Male Pedestrian Killed In Accident On State Highway 31 East

Smith County, TX (May 27, 2019) – At approximately 11:07 a.m., police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident on State Highway 31 East.

According to reports, 29-year-old Joseph J. Jaggernauth was traveling east along State Highway 31 when he jumped out into the roadway. Upon entering the lane of traffic, Jaggrenauth was struck by a 2016 Nissan Frontier driven by 27-year-old Taran Walker Gaston.

Jaggernauth was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
