San Antonio, TX (May 31, 2019) – On May 22, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Medina Base Road.

According to reports, a female was traveling along the roadway with her 17-year-old cousin when the tire on the vehicle blew out. The blowout caused the driver to lose control, crossing over the center median in the roadway. As the vehicle crossed over, it struck an SUV head-on in the opposite lane.

The two individuals inside the SUV were both injured and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

On May 31, authorities identified the two victims injured in this collision as 78-year-old Jolene Hovis and her husband 86-year-old Kenneth.
