Smith County, TX – 14-Year-Old Killed in Boat Accident in Lake Palestine

Unfortunately, over 4,000 boating accidents happened in Texas annually, and result in almost 600 deaths. Drivers who operate boats are just as accountable for accidents as drivers who operate vehicles. The leading causes of boat accidents is operators being distracted while on the water, not paying attention to other boats or swimmers, lack of experience, speed, and excessive alcohol consumption. When boat operators are not responsible, they run the risk of inflicting serious harm on themselves and others. Other causes include boat malfunction, hazardous weather, and poor lighting.

At Benton Law Firm, we believe boat operators who cause serious accidents should be responsible for all damages and losses they inflict on innocent victims. Our experienced Texas personal injury lawyers are aware of the strict laws that boat operators must abide by. We work hard an efficiently to ensure we help our clients prove their negligence claims against irresponsible boat operators.
