Midland County, TX – Child Killed & Two Injured In Crash On E County Rd
Midland Count, TX (June 5, 2019) – On June 3, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on East County Road around 5:40 p.m.
Preliminary reports of the incident show 34-year-old Teffoni Phillips was traveling along the roadway in a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, with two children. Phillips pulled up to a stop sign, stopped momentarily, then proceeded through the intersection.
As the Jeep passed through, it was struck by a 2015 Mack truck tractor, which was traveling north along FM 1379.
Phillips and one child were seriously injured and transported to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment. The second child was transported to a hospital in Lubbock, where they were pronounced deceased.
The incident remains under investigation at this time. The driver of the truck was injured in the collision.
