Cherokee County, TX – One Dead In Two-Vehicle Crash On US 69

Cherokee County, TX (June 6, 2019) – The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US 69 around 1 p.m. on June 6.

According to reports from DPS, 29-year-old Benjamin James Tissee was traveling north along US 69 in the inside lanes, following a car driven by 55-year-old Blondria Dee Griffin.

Griffin slowed her vehicle at the intersection of Country Road 2236 and US 69 in an attempt to make a left turn. Tissee failed to control his speed and struck the rear-end of Griffin’s vehicle.

Griffin was transported to a hospital in Jacksonville where was succumbed to her injuries. Tissee was uninjured in the collision.
