Amarillo, TX – Multiple Fatalities After Crash On West 45th Avenue

Amarillo, TX (June 10, 2019) – On June 8th, Amarillo Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 7900 block of West 45th Avenue around 1:40 p.m.

According to reports, 65-year-old Joyce Venable Shull was traveling east along 45th Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle. Shull’s vehicle crossed over the center lane and struck a westbound vehicle, which was driven by 24-year-old Kinsley Smith.

Both drivers involved in this collision sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation at this time. However, officers believe speed played a critical role in the incident.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of both Joyce Venable Shull and Kinsley Smith. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
