Hale County, TX – Rosalva & Eduardo Dorantes Killed & Mary Dorantes Injured In Highway 70 Crash
Hale County, TX (June 19, 2019) – On Monday, June 16, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 70 near Sun Road.
Reports from authorities show that a truck was pulling a flatbed semi-trailer east along the highway when the trailer disconnected from the truck and crossed into the westbound lane. As the trailer crossed over, it crashed into the front end of a passenger car traveling west along the highway.
Emergency crews had to extricate the passenger car’s three occupants. Two victims were transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock via air helicopter. A third occupant of the car was transported to Covenant Health Plainview.
Authorities confirm that the driver of the car, 53-year-old Rosalva Dorantes, and a passenger, 60-year-old Eduardo Dorantes, both succumbed to their injuries. The third victim, 18-year-old Mary Dorantes, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
